Governor Soludo said the Ekwusigo road was constructed by the Ekwusigo Local Government administration under Mayor Chimezie Obi, using sub-cement stabilisation, stone-base laying and asphalt finishing.

The governor linked the commissioning to Anambra's strengthened local government framework and said the project demonstrated the capacity of local administrations to execute infrastructure directly at the grassroots.

Soludo also said local government reforms had been designed to improve fiscal strength and long-term sustainability, while announcing that he would tour other local government areas to commission additional projects.

The governor stated that more than 137 roads and projects were awaiting commissioning across Anambra. At Ekwusigo, he also commissioned a legislative building at the local government secretariat and presented cash awards connected to a skills acquisition programme.

The Ekwusigo road commissioning therefore adds another completed local government project to the state's reported pipeline of infrastructure awaiting commissioning, while the governor linked the programme to the wider local administration framework.
