The centre was commissioned as a youth-focused project in Nsit Atai, with Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs Hon. Lady Emem Ibanga describing it as the first of its kind in the context of the presentation at the event.

Ibanga said the facility would give young people an opportunity to learn, relearn and share ideas. Her remarks placed youth development and access to a dedicated space for interaction at the centre of the project's purpose.

The Commissioner also referenced other projects and interventions in Nsit Atai, including the Chairman's Lodge, road projects, a Model Primary Health Centre, a Model Primary School and Compassionate Homes across the local government's 10 wards.

She further acknowledged appointments and recruitment of people from Nsit Atai into the civil service while expressing appreciation for the opportunities associated with the administration's activities in the area.

The commissioning therefore adds a dedicated youth-development facility to the projects cited at the event, with the centre positioned as a venue for learning, knowledge exchange and youth engagement in Nsit Atai.
