Represented by the Special Adviser on Security, Samuel Ojo, the Governor announced the formation of the Mining Community Intelligence Architecture. The directive mandates the immediate establishment of a 7-man Community Security Committee in all major mining areas across the Ife-Ijesa axis within 14 days to monitor unregulated migration and secure mining borders.
Unregulated movement and foreign infiltration within the mineral-rich areas of Osun State have introduced serious threats of banditry and parallel criminal taxation systems. The Ministry of Bureau of Social Services, the State Security Council, and traditional authorities are integrated into this new intelligence framework to screen and profile workers. The strategy ensures that the local mining economy remains formal, safe, and protected from criminal templates that have destabilized parts of the North West region.
This proactive policy implementation highlights the state executive's agile approach to risk management and internal security administration. By legally embedding traditional rulers, community committees, and the State Security Council into a unified command chain, the administration strengthens grassroots institutional capacity.
