The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the deployment of ₦3,340,739,507.88 for the immediate implementation of the Jigawa State Dairy Production Programme. Announcing the resolutions on Tuesday, the State Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmed, also disclosed that the cabinet approved ₦923,670,000 for the rollout of the 2026 Rainy Season Phase IV of the Jigawa State Workers' Agricultural Support Programme. Both approvals are designed to drive state-wide agro-allied development and scale up rural economy indicators.
The financial allocations serve as core operational blocks of the administration's agricultural transformation agenda. The dairy initiative systematically modernizes the livestock sector, strengthening the value chain, creating formal job opportunities, and expanding daily household incomes for rural farmers and pastoralists. Simultaneously, the Workers' Agricultural Support Programme provides structured credit and input interventions to civil servants, enabling public workers to engage productively in food production, thereby bolstering food security and supplementing household earnings.
